I don’t know about you folks, but I absolutely adore the Kirby franchise. Honestly, that series includes some of my favorite games, and thus far, everything I’ve played starring Kirby has provided me with many memorable and enjoyable experiences. So it should come as no surprise that I’m totally stoked about the upcoming Kirby’s Dream Collection, which will celebrate the pink puffball’s 20th anniversary.

Nintendo revealed that the Wii disc would come bundled with a soundtrack CD and a full color book showcasing the Kirby series’ history. Additionally, the actual collection compiles the following six classic adventures starring the rotund hero:

  • Kirby’s Dream Land (Game Boy)
  • Kirby’s Adventure (NES)
  • Kirby’s Dream Land 2 (Game Boy)
  • Kirby Super Star (SNES)
  • Kirby’s Dream Land 3 (SNES)
  • Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (Nintendo 64)

I try to remain professional as a games writer, so it isn’t often that I allow myself to completely geek out over things. That said, I’m totally geeking out over this collection of Kirby games. We’re getting some great 2D platformers here, including Kirby’s Adventure (one of my personal favorites), and Kirby 64, which went on to gain a pretty strong cult following.

Watch out for Kirby’s Dream Collection on September 16 if you dig stuff that’s super colorful, ridiculously charming, and just plain fun.
