Best Buy: Shadows of the Damned for Xbox 360 Is $20

Suda51 and developer Grasshopper Manufacture’s latest over-the-top romp, Lollipop Chainsaw, launched last week for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to wide critical acclaim. The game was praised for its solid hack-and-slash gameplay, colorful “pop zombie” art style, and enjoyable narrative. Last year, however, Grasshopper’s big summer title was Shadows of the Damned, a joint project between Suda51, Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, and Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka — a true supergroup of talented developers. Sadly, it didn’t fare all that well in sales.

It really is a shame that the game wasn’t a financial success, because it was an awesome experience rife with entertaining gameplay, awesome characters, and hilarious writing. If you never played Shadows of the Damned and are at least remotely interested in the game, I would suggest checking out the latest deal from Best Buy. You can snag Shadows of the Damned for $19.99, as reported on Thrifty Nerd. Given how great this title is, that’s definitely a steal.

It appears that new copies of the game are only available for Xbox 360. That’s kind of a bummer if you game primarily on PlayStation 3, but if you’re a multiplatform gamer or just own Microsoft’s console, Shadows of the Damned is most certainly worth a look.
