At its semiannual media summit in San Francisco today, Nintendo confirmed that upcoming Wii sports title Mario Super Sluggers is heading to North America.
Previously revealed during a Japanese press conference last October, the game is a progressive follow-up to 2005′s GameCube hit Mario Superstar Baseball.
Featuring a star-studded roster of characters from across the Mario universe, Sluggers promises to take full advantage of the motion-sensing capable Wii Remote controller, allowing players to use the device for pitching or as a baseball bat.
Mario Super Sluggers is slated for a release later this year in North America.
