Sonic Unleashed Officially Unleashed

Following a public leak of in-game assets and a video clip over Easter weekend, SEGA today officially announced Sonic Unleashed.
Players will assume the role of Sonic the Hedgehog in his race against time to stop series nemesis Dr. Eggman and save a dying world by retrieving the power of the chaos emeralds.
Powered by an in-house engine, the “Hedgehog Engine,” Unleashed is set for a multi-platform release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation 2 later this year. The game will feature 3D visuals mixed with 2D gameplay and has been under development for three years.
