Mark Rein Checks Out UE3-Powered Fiddy Cent Game, Walks Away Impressed

According to the developers over at Swordfish Studios, the outspoken Epic Games VP Mark Rein dropped by recently to check out their latest title, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, which is running Unreal Engine 3. Surprisingly, Rein was rather impressed by the title, says director Julian Widdows:

We’re obviously an Unreal Engine 3 licensee and he just came in for a visit and said ‘oh my god, I can’t believe you’re working on this, it looks phenomenal’. That was it; it wasn’t anything particularly formal, he came in to say hello to his licensees and was blown away by it. That was great for us.

Do I sense a slight hint of sarcasm here? Who knows, maybe it could be good, or perhaps Rein is just thrilled over the fact they are using Unreal Engine 3. To be fair, Swordfish Studios weren’t responsible for the last 50 Cent game, so Blood on the Sand does have a chance of being halfway decent.
