Atlus today announced plans to bring dungeon crawler Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard stateside for the Nintendo DS. A direct sequel to the original, Heroes of Lagaard features new dungeons, new character classes, AI enhanced FOEs, and a revamped map system.

The game’s story centers around an adventurous explorer who enters the city of Lagaard in search of a mysterious castle floating above in the sky. Word has it that the first to retrieve the Grail of Kings from this castle will be bestowed upon great wealth and fame.

Etrian Odyssey II is slated to hit North American retailers on June 17.
