EA To Charge For Weapons In Battlefield: Bad Company

According to a gamer who has gained early access to the multiplayer beta for console shooter Battlefield: Bad Company, EA is charging for access to certain weapons within the game. A quick glance at the option screen reveals a total of 10 weapons for sale on the Xbox Live Marketplace, with five of the weapons listed as available in the Gold Edition of the game.

The closed beta test will officially kick off next week on March 25. There are concerns as to what kind of impact this will have on multiplayer. Now this is a beta after all, so the idea of offering in-game weapons as DLC could very well be thrown out before the game hits gold status.

EA has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.

This is the whole reason I stayed as far away as possible from WOW. Once we start buying into games where $50 is not enough to get FULL content, we allow them to do over and over again.

This is monetary rape!

It also makes me cheer all the people who pirate these !@@ games.
