Sure, we know when Nintendo is launching its upcoming WiiWare download service in Japan. Same goes for North America. But Europe? Nothing official yet. Well, until now that is.

Owners of a Wii console in the region are being notified with the following message when downloading the latest system update:

This update features support for the WiiWare download service planned for May 2008.

May? The North American launch is scheduled for May — May 12 to be specific. Taking this bit of news into account, it seems likely that the service will hit Europe around then as well.
