After waiting for what seems like an eternity, Diablo III is less than a month away from hitting store shelves. As the final hours near, Blizzard has decided it’s time to wrap up the Diablo III beta. In a blog post thanking participants, the company announced that the beta servers will be taken offline effective May 1. This will include a complete reset of all beta accounts and associated character information.

Going forward, interaction on Blizzard’s Diablo III community site will be limited to those that have pre-purchased a copy of the title or have a valid StarCraft II or World of Warcraft license tied to their account.

Diablo III launches on PC May 15.
