Epic: Unreal Engine 4 Demo Runs On Nvidia’s Kepler GPU, ‘Samaritan’ Demo Now Able To Run On Single Card

Epic followed up on its mighty impressive Samaritan tech demo with an unveil of Unreal Engine 4 at this year’s GDC. Unfortunately, those privy to details are bound by a heavily restrictive NDA so footage hasn’t emerged just yet. What’s interesting, though, is that according to Epic Games president Mark Rein – the Samaritan demo is now able to run a single GPU powered by Nvidia yet-to-be-released Kepler architecture.
In contrast, it took three high-end Nvidia GTX580 GPUs in SLI configuration to run the demo previously. The UE4 demo also ran on a Kepler card, though configuration details were not specified. In any case, the fact that you’ll be able to get Samaritan-level visuals on Nvidia’s new Kepler line with a single card is quite impressive. What a difference a year makes.
