Programmers looking to dabble with Sony’s cross-platform framework PlayStation Suite need not wait much longer, as Sony Computer Entertainment announced today that an open beta for the SDK will arrive in April.

The rollout will incorporate feedback from the closed beta, which kicked off in November, and “dramatically enhance convenience and efficiency of the content development environment. ” Sony says developers will also be able to conduct performance verification of their content on PS Vita.

The full version of the Suite SDK will ring in at an affordable price — $99 US annually. Subject to SCE approval, content developers can also publish works created through the SDK on the PlayStation Store. We’re certainly looking forward to more Vita apps once the floodgates open.
