Ubisoft’s released a trailer for the American Revolution-set Assassin’s Creed III, giving us the first glimpse at protagonist Ratohnhaké:ton — also known as Connor, whose roots stem from Native American and English heritage. Additionally, a Wii U version has been confirmed, in addition to the previously announced PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 release.
It’s backed by Ubi’s new in-house game engine ‘Ubisoft-AnvilNext,’ which touts “breakthroughs in visual quality, character models and artificial intelligence.” Additionally, the company says Assassin’s Creed III has been in development for three years and represents “twice the production capacity of any previous Ubisoft game.”
“Assassin’s Creed III features the franchise’s most expansive setting so far, along with an exciting new hero and exponentially more gameplay,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot. “Whether you’re a longtime fan of Assassin’s Creed or if you’re new to the franchise, you’re going to be blown away by the scale and marvel of Assassin’s Creed III.”
It’s out on October 30 on PS3 and Xbox 360. The Wii U and PC versions are in development, though no specific date was given.
