Namco Bandai’s announced that Ridge Racer will be available for the PS Vita in North America on March 13. Although already out in Europe and Japan, the company says it has taken the extra time to prepare for a “full-throttle” launch, addressing various concerns raised by players internationally.

First off, a common complaint in many reviews was the subpar frame rate. Namco says a worldwide update will be pushed out on the same day the US verison hits shelves, bringing with it an “improved frame rate and crisper graphics.” In addition, until April 30, those who buy the title at retail or digitally will receive a free Gold Pass ticket, which unlocks a plethora of extra DLC. Here’s a rundown:

Five additional machines: PROMESSA, ELENIE, DIGNISTAR, FATALITA and MELTFIRE
Three additional courses: Old Central, Sunset Heights and Lost Ruins
Two music tracks: NEW SONGS PACK 01
One new extended music mix: LONG MIX BGM 01

The retail version will set you back $29.99, while the PSN equivalent is $24.99. Later in April, Namco plans on expanding the game with a silver pass that adds “even more cars and courses at one low price.”
