EA is upping the ante when it comes to cross-promotional efforts, with a free digital copy of its military shooter Battlefield 3 on offer for those that pre-order Mass Effect 3 on Origin.

Given that it’s distributed through Origin, this offer is only good for the PC version of BF3. According the fine print, those that already have BF3 on Origin will not receive an additional copy – so gifting it to a friend in need is not an option unfortunately.  The offer expires on March 5 and codes will be mailed out by March 8.
