Square Enix Moving Towards Simultaneous Worldwide Releases

by Mike Bendel on March 10, 2008 @ 11:43 am

Traditionally, Square Enix has always started work on localizing new titles after releasing them in Japan, the company’s home country. That will be changing, according to Square Enix president Yoichi Wada, who told Japan’s Nihon Keizan Shimbun that the company will be “making simultaneous releases the norm.”

It’s not clear if the decision to take a different approach to the game localization process will affect titles currently in development, such as Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon Quest IX, or only yet-to-be announced titles.
