Capcom Officially Knocks Down Resident Evil Revelations Price To $40

Up in arms over the  premium asking price for Resident Evil Revelations? Good news, Capcom is bringing it down to a more reasonable $40 — the standard going rate for new portable releases on 3DS. Previously, it was $50.

Apparently, after weeks of negotiation, Capcom was able to pull a few strings over at Nintendo HQ to bring down the cost. Revelations ships on a 4GB game cartridge, which is more expensive to produce. Somehow, though, we have a feeling the vocal outcry from fans had something to do with Capcom’s proactive stance on this too.

For those keen on pre-ordering, it may take a week or so before retailers update their product listings to reflect the price drop. At least one retailer – GameStop – is already showing it at $39.99.

Revelations hits US retailers next month on February 7.

Is anyone getting this? I was put off by the $50 price but I may bite now. Reviews have been somewhat mixed but I like the fact it's more of a traditional RE game.

I'm going to get it. The demo was fun and reminded me of a mix between RE4 and RE1

I will be getting this. The Demo that was included with The Mercs was awesome.

I picked this up yesterday. At Chapter 3 and I'm really enjoying it. Only thing I don't like is having to scan for items, it's tedious.

PR0fessor Burnt says:

Still Haven't managed to pick it up yet. Glad to hear it's good though
