Insomniac Done With Resistance Franchise

by Mike Bendel on January 26, 2012 @ 10:13 am

There has been speculation that Insomniac’s decision to venture into multiplatform development would signal the end of its involvement in the Resistance franchise, and it turns out that is indeed the case. By way of a VG247 report, CEO Ted Price confirmed that the studio will not be handling development on any Resistance titles going forward.

What studio will pick up the mantle? Sony clearly has plans for the franchise, considering Nihilistic is working on Resistance: Burning Skies for the Vita. It’s likely we’ll see future mainline entries picked up by one of Sony’s internal studios, however.

Insomniac is currently working on Overstrike, a 4 person co-op action game funded by EA.
