OpenCMA Released, Disables Firmware Check In PS Vita Content Manager

In order to copy files to and from the PS Vita, Sony requires the use of an app called Content Manager Assistant. Recently, this tool has raised privacy concerns in that it connects to the internet to check if your PS Vita is updated to the latest firmware before transferring files. Additionally, it refuses to run at all if your PC is not connected to the internet when attempting to transfer savedata or games.

Perhaps more concerning, is the fact that the app actually locks you out from transferring files on the Vita until the firmware update is applied.

Enter OpenCMA, a tool by homebrew developer Virtuous Flame that effectively disables the update check enforced by CMA. With the OpenCMA patches applied, you can continue to transfer files without being nagged to update firmware.
