Are the lovable Patapons poised to make a return? Rumor has it that Sony is planning a spin-off of its addictive rhythm-based platformer Patapon. What’s more, is that 1UP rumor monger Quartermann reports that this so-called spin-off will be released as a downloadable title on the PlayStation Network.

Fact: Patapon has been generally well received amongst PSP owners. If Sony is pleased with the sales of the game, then it’s almost inevitable that we’ll see either a spin-off or sequel. As always, time will tell.
