Steam Holiday Sale Is Go

It’s here, folks. Valve has launched its annual year-end holiday sale, offering deep discounts across its entire Steam catalog. Like previous sales, each day will highlight an assortment of time-limited deals.

Today, Metro 2033, Singularity, Portal 2, Bunch of Heroes, Just Cause 2, Fable III, and Max Payne are among the wallet-tempting daily deals.

Additionally, Valve has put together a Great Gift Pile, giving users the opportunity to win coupons and other gifts on Steam simply by playing games and completing listed achievements/objectives. A total of six will be offered each day, with more details offered here. Time to dig into that backcatalog!

The coupons are only valid January 2nd 2012 to March 1st 2012, so Portal 2 is cheaper now at 75% ($7.50) than it will be when you can use the coupon

I also got a 33% off Valve software coupon, but unless HL3 comes out Jan 1st 2012 you will most likely get a better deal on Valve software during this sale than a month from now

So far I haven't bought anything. The featured sales seem kinda weak in comparison to previous years, lots of repeats from daily/weekly deals over the past few months. Still have awhile to go so hopefully it picks up.
