Square Enix sent out a mass email today informing users that its Square Enix Members service suffered a security breach on December 12. In response, Square Enix has took the service offline to conduct a through investigation.

The extent of the breach seems minimal. So far, Square Enix has not found any evidence to suggest that personal information was compromised. User logins and credit card details remain safe, as they were not stored on the affected server.

“We take data security extremely seriously and we regret any inconvenience this may have caused our customers and fans. We appreciate your patience and support at this time as we finalize our investigation over the next few days,” reads the email.
