Following the news that GameCube title Resident Evil 0 would be hitting the Wii this Summer this Japan, Capcom’s Christian Svensson issued a statement in response to fans who asked if the port will find its way to North America.

Yes, this title exists… for Japan. There are no plans for a Western release for the title at this time.

And now, I’ll bet we see all sorts of complaints about that fact, after pages of outrage on this forum and others that the title even exists with people telling us to “go to Hell” or how we “suck”. We simply can not win. :)

So there – no plans to bring the port stateside. For now, at least. I can’t imagine too many people are upset by this bit of news. According to Famitsu, all that is being added to this port are the Wiimote controls, which probably won’t make as much of an impact as they did in RE4, since RE0 is a return to the series’ old formula – complete with prerendered backgrounds and tank controls.
