During Destination PlayStation, a retailers-only conference, Sony Computer Entertainment chief executive Jack Trenton announced that Metal Gear Solid 4 is scheduled to be released on the PS3 June 12.

Word has it that Sony will offer a bundle package complete with the game and a 80GB PS3. An official announcement is expected soon.
