Update: Call of Duty Elite PC Timing ‘To Be Determined’

Update: Activision has stepped in to clarify its earlier statement that put the fate of Elite on PC in question.  The company is still committed to bringing the Elite experience to PC – it’s just a matter of timing.

“We misspoke. Our goal has always been to provide a free PC offering for ELITE. Stay tuned for an update as timing is still being determined.”

Original Story: Dismal news for those awaiting the PC version of Call of Duty Elite. Activision tweeted earlier today that “We are working towards a universal Elite experience but we cannot guarantee if or when a version will be available for the PC.”

The company originally delayed the roll out of Elite on PC due to concerns of it being an “insecure platform.”

“The issue here is that the PC is insecure platform,” said Beachhead boss Chacko Sonny. “Without a central, trusted resource for stats, a lot of our competition features become unfair. We can’t give away prizes when people can easily cheat their stats. Leaderboards are less fun when a lot of the users are there unfairly.”

“If and when,” doesn’t exactly instill us with confidence.
