At GDC today, Square Enix General Manager Taku Murata announced new details on Crystal Tools, the new name for the company’s cross-platform middleware, originally known as the White Engine.
Murata explained that Crystal Tools is being used in the development of Square Enix’s upcoming next-generation MMO. Some of the functionality in Crystal Tools supports the Wii, too — unlike the White Engine, which was primarily designed for PlayStation 3 development purposes.
