In-Game Editor Coming For Portal 2

by NeilR on October 24, 2011 @ 11:27 am

Valve has announced the next DLC that the team is working on for Portal 2. They are currently working on an in-game map editor that will allow players to create their own single player and co-op test chambers. Players will also be able to share their maps with the rest of the Portal 2 community in a fashion similar to LittleBigPlanet complete with a peer review/rating system.

While the Source Developers Kit has technically allowed such things already, the in-game editor will make the whole process easier for the layman.

Valve is looking at a release date in early 2012; however, we all know what can happen to Valve’ release dates so we’ll have to see what the reality is next year.

This is what should have been their from the beginning imo, would have given portal 2 so much replay value if it used a LBP system.
