Official: Super Smash Bros. Brawl Delayed Till March

by Mike Bendel on January 15, 2008 @ 10:40 am

Last week we reported on retailer listings which suggested that Brawl had been pushed back from its scheduled February release date to March. Turns out those listings were in fact right on.

Brawl director Masahiro Sakurai today confirmed the delay on the game’s official website.

Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we’ve had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th.

I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience.

Jeez. Delays like this remind me of waiting for Zelda: Ocarina of Time back in the N64 days. Still, I’d rather see a polished game than a rushed one, so delays are always good in that respect.
