At first I had 3.03 OE C and everything was fine but when I upgraded to 3.10 OE A & A' this starts to happen:

Every time I try to go to the Internet Browser, It gives me "Blue Screen of Death"...... =_=' or anything else on that side like RSS, & etc..... sighs

Also whenever i play Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops Online, A message came up that I never seen before.

"The Security Certificate Is Either Expired or Invalid (You PSP system internal clock may be set incorrectly) (Error: P604 H83000005)"

(Note: My Clock Speed is set at "Default" & I also tried 333, but no good results came up)

However i still able to get Online but this is still bugging me how i get BSOD on my PSP XMB.....

Have anyone encountered the same problem?

Setting the "System Language" under "System Settings" to

"Simplified Chinese" or "Traditional Chinese" produces an error.

But setting the "Character Set" to Simplified or Traditional Chinese has no problems.

So is there a way to set the "System Language" to Simplified or Traditional Chinese?

The PSP is 1000K (Japan), using the Japan 3.10 firmware.

I also notice that there is now a PSP store (like the PS3 store) for

people to download demos and movies and wallpapers starting with

3.10 firmware on the Japanese version. It is called PlayStation Spot.

So can you please update the firmware so that Simplified and Traditional

language is possible? So that the menus and the XMB can display these

languages. It must just be a small error because the character set for

them works for file names.

I believe the problem is that these languages were not present in the 1.5 firmware, they came about in 2.0. The issue is that since OE uses the 1.5 kernel for most homebrew, it would not understand these fonts. That's why they are disabled.

Yes i have the same problem to. It gives the blue screen and O to restore default settings and the psp hangs. I'll try the restore default settings. Recovery menu isnt working for me either, any fixes for that?

well, i just upgraded about 2 mins ago and i checked the whole Firmware and recovery menu and everything is ok!!! (its a first for me that everything is working 100% XD.

In PS Emulator, the "Quit Game" is the first option, but it's always the last one.

Just wanted to find out if the 3.10 oe a2 will also work with the japan firmware version 3.10 instead of the us firmware version 3.10. I have on of the original psp's from japan.

yes it will believe it or not all region updates are exactly the same, just different features will show up based on the region code in the idstorage.

I also had a few problems with the 3.10 OE. I was in the middle of playing legend of dragoon (a psx game) on 3.03 OE-C and when i switched to 3.10 OE it wouldn't load up. I also met up with that blue screen a few times ( curse that bule screen when i'm tryin to..... do my homework ;)

I have a problem using some isos in this firmware 3.10a` that in 2.71se was working perfectly,now when i start the iso my psp screen puts in black and doesnt does nothing

all I can say is disable things in the recovery like plain modules, no-umd etc

its better to try with an untouched, non-ripped iso too. Newer firmwares don't seem to like ripped games as much

well i have latest dark alex`s CF 3.1 OE-A2 and getting this error when trying to load Legend Of Heroe 3 ----> 80010002 / fresh iso non ripped on .cso and did works under 3.02 CF any idea?

How am i supposed to know where to put the files if i have 3.10. it says in the readme but i didnt see a readme in any of the downloaded files.....so what am i supposed to do with the downloaded file content????

I doubt its an OE issue, turn off disable plain modules and no-umd in recovery. You may also have a corrupt ISO.

do what I said above, LoH 3 works fine for me untouched in iso format.

I am using 3.10OE A', all games work except for WE PES 2007, i looked in another forum, several playes seem to have the same problem as i do.

and also, i heard that dark alex won't release 3.11oe but wait for a future version, personally i am very grateful to him so that i could play all the games. but i do hope that each time we have a new version, the basic function of psp to me is to play games, so i would like all games work fine with new version instead having new functions but problems with games.

As far as I know is that you can only hack v3.03. If you have a lower vesion you still need to update to 3.03 but not above.

And Ive also read that you need a copy of the unpatched GTA: Liberty City Stories UMD? Is that true?

correct, for 2.81 - 3.03 downgrade.

the problem lilkev247 has is that he has actually upgraded to the official 3.1, and as of now there is NO way to do anything about it. Which means you cannot downgrade 3.1, cannot instal OE on 3.1 and basically can't do anything except wait for a downgrader.

3.1 OE A' can only be updated from 3.1 OE A (new install) and THAT can only be installed on only OE, SE or 1.5 firmwares using the guidelines provided here:

You got it man, its true. Any firmware from 2.81 to 3.02 needs to upgrade to 3.03 and THEN downgrade to 1.5 using the unpatched GTA:LCS. The downgraded 1.5 can then be upgraded to the 3.03 OE or 3.1 OE.

hi, im new to the psp modding scene. i recently updated to 3.10oe-2, now i have got GTA2 psz rip to work on my psp, but unable 2 get any ISO's to work. it is driving me crazy... the game i am trying to load is Metal gear Portable Op. it shows up as a valid game on my psp but when i load it, it just goes 2 a black screen and does nothing... any help?

i have been hearing alot about iso formats etc, what do i need to do?

do i need a iso loader, or will games load off the system screen?

umm...

i dont think their is an official DAX forum or official Tut.

Their are a few 3.10OE tuts on the net if you look around.

ISO's hav to be in either a; .ISO or .CSO

DAX files are not compatible.

Troubleshooting:

1.Check that your ISO/CSO file is in your ISO folder in your PSP root folder.

2.in the recovery menu (while booting your PSP, hold the right trigger) check in Configuration that NO-UMD is Disabled and when you run the ISO/CSO, make sure their is a UMD in the drive.

3.Try other ISO/CSO files just to check if your current game is corrupted.

4.If you are still having problems, goto "restore factory settings" and then try run the ISO/CSO out of your "Game" Menu again.

*if you still have problems, post it on this thread and i or someone else will be glad to help you out.*

I recently upgraded from 3.02 OE-B to 3.10 OE-A R2 and on 3.10 OE I noticed that for FFVII, the transition to the battle screens and the the timing for certain things in the battle (like the colorful "LIMIT" thing in and also Tifa's limit break slot machine) is a lot faster. This applies to both ISOs converted with the popstation that came with 3.02OE-B and the later popstation.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any solutions?

its normal, as you know Sony makes the emulator and they broke some things but fixed others.

If you liked 3.02 popstation better, you can use the new Popsloader to load different pops versions when starting your PS1 games.

Last week i bought a PSP and i did the necessary update (3.10 OE-A') in order to play ISO files. I can say that i was not expecting that will be too easy to play downloaded games. Thank you dark-alex for that amazing support!

I was wondering, is it so had to play ISO games, without a UMD inserted? I was wondering how come and such an issue havent resolved yet... (because i am a newbie, sorry if i am missing something)

It's ok we're all new at one time or another but DO NOT talk about downloading games. Your question is immediately null and void. New or not, NEVER reference illegal material. If you want to play an official game go buy it. Plain and simple.

To answer your question - some games do need a UMD "any UMD will work" inserted and others don't.

You can enable NO-UMD mode in the recovery (hold R when turning your PSP on). However it is not compatible with all games.

Is the 3.10 OE-A version from dark_alex working for everyone?

i dont c what is wrong with d/l a game, i broke my NFS so had to d/l it so play it. do downloading and backin up is not illegal as long as you have purchased the original game in the 1st place.

sort of like windows and cd key, u can d/l windows again if u loose ur cd, and just use tha same cd key. simple as that...

problem was usb1.1 as soon as i transferd data on usb2 and loaded the game it worked.. cannot explain this... maybe something with psp compatibility with usu 1.1 who knows... :S

In all of the Custom Firmware versions i have had (3.03 OE-A/B/C, 3.10 OE-A/A') when enabling the "hide corrupt icons" option in the recovery menu, the corrupt icons always seem to stay...

If you taken Firmware 3.10OpenEdition you may know , that some peoples broke's theirs Playstations , when they are go to BROWSER , I will take you an advice : If you think that you broken your PSP , you will shut down your PSP , go to Recovery Menu ( it seems by pushing on Right Shift on your console,then you would download the Firmware and take DATA.DXAR and EBOOT.PBP,and create folder PSP/GAME/RECOVERY (to that folder you will put EBOOT.PBP and DATA.DXAR),then you go to recovery menu and should push on the "Run Programm at PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP , push X (or O) you may see black display with red text,push X(or O),wait when the installation will take over,and push X,then your PSP console may to work greatly on lower Firmware , then if you want , you may install firmware which version is higher.

Well read the first step .. you can't be on 3.10 and install this. There is also no downgrade for 3.10, so you're kinda stuck right now.

some game can run in 3.o3oec but can;t run in3.10oea such as ACE COMBAT X,when you start the third stage ,psp cant run more terrible is when you use devhock then shut down psp,it can;t boot you have to enter recover mode.i'am veryangy with 3.10oea

it is fine that i used 3.03oec ,but problem came when i upgrade 3.10oea ,everytime i use devhock shut down psp and it can't boot first i think it's bricked then i enter recover mode after exit it can boot ,why ! it's no steady as 3.03oedc and resident evil 2 still cant't run i belive you dark-alex can make it run

look if you don't like 3.10 OE go back to 3.03 then, no reason to cry about it. Ace Combat also works fine for me in 3.10, try disabling plain modules in recovery and no-umd?

DA can't fix RE2 its Sony's emulator you'll just have to wait for them to fix.

My brother has a PSP with 3.10 OE A and his saves the .jpg as wallpaper and does not change back to original.

never heard of that happening before.. make sure in theme settings, it says Wallpaper -> Set

I have the same problem. Everything works great except for wallpaper. It will reset itself after I exit out of a game or restart the PSP.

^^ think you are overdoing some steps here.

all you need to do is place the 310_a2update folder in "pspdrive:/PSP/GAME150" (if you don't have a GAME150 folder, create it).

I Have Version 3.10 oe-a and i downloaded field commander and when i went to play it my psp froze and now it just keeps freezing if do anything to fast like if i slowly switch from music to photo it will work but if i try to scroll it freezes and when i go to play games it freezes what should i do.. Never heard of this....Did you delete some folders after you updated?? only thing I can say then has never failed for me...format the memory stick...that ones up too you, or you can wait and see what some other people have to say about this.

You will need to downgrade your psp to 1.50 and then update to 3.03 oe or 3.10 oe...you will need a GTA liberty citys UMD with the firmware 2.00 on it in order to downgrade...the downgrader is located on this site. Good luck.

Do I downgrade to 1.50 Sony then upgrade to DA or upgrade straight to DA?

Once i have regraded to DA am I still able to go back to Sony if need be?

Follow the 2.71 downgrade guide in the help center forum to downgrade to 1.5, then install 3.10 OE-A and once installed run the update to 3.10 OE-A2.

You can always go back to the official Sony firmware.

I just took my PSP from 2.81 -> 3.0.3 -> 1.5 -> 3.10OE-A succesfully :D but then had a problem moving up to A'/A2 :eek: . When trying to execute the update I get "The game could not be started. (80020148)". I note that this error number is the same as this patch is supposed to fix when running ISO's. Anyone have any idea what went wrong and how to fix it?

Did you place the update in the GAME150 folder?

When under PSP/GAME150, I get "no games available". The update is recognised when under PSP/GAME, but generates the error when executed. I see a couple of people in this forum have the same problem.

I saw in various docs that there was a mix of GAME vs. GAME150. Why is this?

GAME150 forces the program to use 1.5 kernel. That's really odd that its not showing up for you.. but what you can do instead is hold R when you turn your PSP on to enter recovery mode and then go to Configuration and change the game folder option to 1.5 kernel. Now it should work fine from regular GAME folder.

Hello everyone, I got a new PSP and went from 2.6->2.8>1.5>3.10OE-A in order to get on the Dark Alex bandwagon. It was quite a scarry time with all these updates but everyting worked out for the best. Now the big prize :) However I still do not know what to do to play a CSO on 3.10OE. Can someone please let me know quickly how to do it. I have the CSO file but do not know what to do with it. Please HELP.

I just got my new PSP. and has done a lot of research about these Custom Firmware,

but a little iffy if i should upgrade, don't want to Brick my PsP. it's my first and have worked hard to get one. My Question is, Is 3.10OE any better than 3.03OE? I was thinking of upgrading my firmware to 3.03oe-c because i haven't found a lot of complaints about it, and seems that that firmware has been perfected. But of course 3.10oe is fairly new, but it will get there in time. My question is, if i was to install 3.03oe-c firmware, do i have to start from 3.03oe-a then 3.03oe-b or do i can i go staright to 3.03oe-c without any risk and problems. or should i just forget about 3.03oe-c and get the 3.10oe. I really don't know much about these things yet. But I guess i wouldn't know unless i try. Thanks.

I bricked my PSP when installing from official 1.5 to 3.1OE

I ran through everything and it said that it was all done and to press X and restart manually, I did and now it won't switch back on, all it does is turn the power light on for a few seconds. I have tried holding down the R button but that doesn't do anything.

the only way to revive your PSP would be to get the modchip (U.P. or upcoming PSP-devolution).

Gwapingn8: if you are comfortable with 3.03 OE then stick with it, 3.10 doesn't contain any significant improvements other than the fact you are running 3.10.

I brought my Psp from 1.5 to 3.10OE-A' no problem but when I try to play some ISO's I just get a black screen. I tried everything that was said in this fourm but nothing worked which is a pity. I installed the update on Dark_Alex's webpage today but it still didn't help.

I think at 1.5 you can jump up to 3.10 oe. Might as well go all the way instead of just to 3.03 oeC unless thats the version you want...Also what firmware are you running right now?

I have the new Custom 3.10A2OE firmware on my PSP, and a few of my PSX games started freezing. They worked fine on my 3.03c. Can somebody please let me know how to go back from 3.10A2OE to 3.03c OE.

why not just use the popstation loader? it will let you use the 3.03 pops on 3.10 OE

I tried with 3.03, 3.10 & 3.11 pops, but there was no change. I don't understand why.

The games that worked on 3.03 were Tomb Raider 1 & 2 (modified) but they keep on freezing on 3.10A2.

strange, well to go back to 3.03 OE-C all you need to do is grab the 3.03 OE-C files, create the dxar, then run the flasher from game menu.

Try hitting your screen brightness button if you're getting a black screen while trying to load a CSO or ISO. For some reason I am having the same issue with 3.10 OE-A. Was not an issue with 3.03 OE-C

After upgrading to 3.10 OE A, I am not able to switch to the 1.5 Kernel when I go into Recovery mode and look in the Configuration menu. Any ideas why this would suddenly go away. This was not the only odd thing. The other odd thing is that now I cannot play CSOs. But I could play them on 3.03 OE C. I see in the post where some have experienced the CSO issue, but not came acrossed the 1.5 kernel issue yet. Any suggestions if I would like to revert back to the 3.03 OE C version?

If you're having trouble loading a ISO / CSO in 3.10 OE-A Try the following:

Go to recovery Mode in Custom Firmware And Set the CPU Clock To 266mhz .

(Also make sure Use NO-UMD is disabled).

For some reason the faster clock speed seems to cure this issue most of the time.

You will get slightly less battery time but it's worth it .

Thanks, I'll give that a try when I get home. It just seems to be the CSOs, as they no longer ever show up in the list. But they are in the same directory they were with the 3.03 version. The ISOs seem to work about 50%. When they do not, you click on the game in the list and after trying to load the game, it says game cannot be loaded and comes up with string of I think about 10 numbers. Not in front of the PSP right yet to tell for sure what it says.

I don't run into that particular problem (with the string of numbers) I just get a blank screen. Trying to go back to the menu results in a lock-up about 50% of the time. I only found out about the processor speed trick last night and tested it with 2 CSO's I couldn't get to work. Had success on both so I'm ASSuming :p this clears up the issue.

Any more troubles and I'm going back to 3.03C. I didn't have any troubles with that version of firmaware.

Have you tried USBHostfs yet ?

It's supposed to enable iso loading through USB cable instaed of mem card.

I tried for a couple of hours to get it working but haven't been able to.

I just reverted back to 3.03C. Things just were never quite right on 3.10A. I may reinstall it over the weekend. I have not tried the USBHostfs yet. I googled it and it looks interesting. I did read where some of the issues people are relating back to the memory card. Well, my card was purchased from Hong Kong, so it may not be a "real" Sony card like it says. I may run out and buy an authentic one to see if it resolves any issues I had with 3.10A.

Yeah, If I could USBHostfs working and had a 50' USB cable I could go anywhere in my house with 350GB at my disposal :p

I might go back to 3.03C as well. It wasn't that hard to revert back, right ?

Nah, reverting back was not a major ordeal. Yeah, I can play the CSO files again. They show up like before, I just could not make them show up on 3.10. No matter what folder I put them in. The 1.5 kernel problem was my fault. Having 350GB at your disposal should keep you occupied for some time if you can get the USBHostfs working.

hello.. through the help of this thread i was able to upgrade to 3.10OE-A' .. after i have installed this onto my PSP.. what is my next step for get it to play homebrews.. before I use Devhook with just my 1.5, now what should I do? follow the same steps to install devhook again onto my current version? and which devhook i should use? thanks

put your 1.5 homebrew in GAME150 .. really no need for devhook though; 3.10 OE plays almost all of your games straight from the game menu.

what excatly is homebrew 1.5 so for example I have a .cso file do I just put it in GAME150 and opening the game from under memory stick in game menu? but GAME150 cannot be found in my memory stick menu.. i had to do recovery 1.5 kernal to instanl OE-A'

Try formatting your mem card. That should create all the folders you need.

ISO or CSO's should play right from the "ISO" directory located on the root of your mem card.

I have the THP8 iso. But somehow, I can't play it. It only loads the starting page after which it closes down. My version is 3.1 OE-A'. Anybody else with this problem?

haven't tried that game in 3.10 OE but have you tried disabling NO-UMD and plain modules? that seems to fix a lot of compatibility issues.

ISO -> yes only iso files or compressed cso files

MUSIC -> supports a few formats such as at3, wav, mp3. Sony changed the folder structure since 2.8 for whatever reason :/ If you have the folder in PSP it should still work.

PICTURE -> supports most image formats such as gif, jpg, bmp

COMMON -> internet browser downloads files with an unknown file type here (e.g. zip, rar, etc)

VIDEO -> same as MP_ROOT setup, just added in 2.8. probably because the MP_ROOT name made no sense at all, lol.

I have been using 3.03 OE-C for quite a while now. I am now unable to upgrade to 3.10 OE-A. I have upgraded many times and have followed the instructions. I have restored all the settings and even tried to downgrade to 1.5 through the recovery menu without it working. I am unable to downgrade or upgrade. This has happened on two psps. Every time I go to upgrade it says missing or corrupt dxar file. I've created the dxar file with 150.pdb and 310.pdb but I have no idea why it's not upgrading. Any help would be appreciated.

what do u mean by plain modules?? i've tried disabling the NO-UMD but it still won't work. and it seems most of my other games can't be played as well. arghhh!! frustrating.

its an option in recovery mode. btw when you turn off no-umd make sure you have some kind of UMD in the drive or all your games will get black screen.

finally got it to downgrade to 1.50 then upped again....I was having a problem in 3.03 OE-C with FFVII psx....now it's working fine. It seemed that the problem was my memory stick. Evidently i have a fake one. I used the 256 I had from before and it worked fine. Didn't have a problem with my 2gb before now....but now I know to use only legit memory sticks for all updates now.

Hello, I'm having trouble running ISO's on my psp. Here's some info on my psp:

I got it from Hong Kong. FW history - 1.50 -> 3.10 oe-a -> 3.10 oe-a'

I tried playing some iso's without a UMD but that didn't work, I just get a message containing

error 80010002. I have 4 iso's that I tried, those are: GTA:LCS, Tekken DR, Burnout and

Socom Fireteam Bravo 2.

I tried running them in No-UMD mode but only Tekken and Socom worked others just got a

black screen. So I found out you needed a UMD in the disk tray to play iso's without being in

the No-UMD mode, absolutely any UMD.

Today I went and bought a Fantastic 4 UMD movie popped it in and tried the games. But they

didn't work, I kept getting the 80010002 error. Now one thing to note is when I insert the UMD

it says that the Region code isn't correct (UMD-movie from Sweden) and it does not show

a UMD icon in the Video section of the XMB. Could that be the issue , or is it the FW and should I try it on 3.03 oe-c ? Please help me out with playing the iso's :(

Edit: Also I read here that transfering files via USB 1.1 is an issue ? Is that for real because I don't have any other options to transfer files other

than USB 1.1

also Armored Core isn't working. Gradius IS working, and I haven't tried Tekken yet.

I'm running in No-UMD mode as it doesn't even try to load the games without it.

I see a lot of posts about turning off No-UMD. That's my favorite feature, why is it not working properly in 3.10oe?

Frankly, I don't remember where I dumped my umd's. Now I'll need to dig them out... what a pointless effort. I will be rolling back to 3.03C.. there's way too many issues at this point.. maybe 3.10B will have this resolved?

no-umd has pretty much stayed the same since 2.71 SE, compatibility is no different in 3.10 or 3.03 OE. most games work with it on, some don't.

this could be fixed in a future release just not much attention has been put towards it..

In the VIDEO folder, do you still need the MNV0001 folder, and the traditional file names? Or can you just put anything in it?

I tried GTA:LCS iso today with some UMD RPG game (can't remember the name) and it worked. One issue though was that when cruising

around the city the streaming was very slow which is ultra annoying. Overclocking to 333Mhz didn't help , when standing in one place it works

fluidly but if you turn around or start cruising there is a big slowdown. I'm sure it's some kind of issue with the game being read off the memory

stick but I have no idea how to resolve it. Any ideas?

Ok, so whenever I go to play the online mode "Free VS" on FW 3.10 oe-a I get a message

saying...

"could not find host"

All other games I am able to play online such as mohh, socom and others. Is this a problem with 3.10oe-a or something else... Anybody PLEASEEE help me to get this game to work...

is the iso compressed? it's either that or a slow memory stick.. Sandisk are much faster than the Sony's.

Just go into the tools folder through command prompt and type "ciso 9 filename.iso target.iso"

Not sure about the video folder, I believe you still need to make the MNV0001 folder etc because last time I tried putting a video in the folder it didn't show up.

I've also tried every fix listed to get ISO/CSO to run reliably (disable no-umd,simple,233Mhz+,etc). Thus far I have a 25% success rate. I'm very new to the scene and 3.10-OE' is the only firmware I've tried my backups against.

The games show up in my games menu with all the usual icons, animations, etc. Some of them launch and don't make it past black screen (Lumines). Others will launch and eventually get stuck while loading... data (LuminesII, I can run through the create profile screens but when I try to actually play, it tries to load data and never completes). Other games run perfectly (MG Acid). If it helps, my US PSP is TA-082 mobo and again, running 3.10-OE A2.

If I choose to revert to an older firmware while this is being fixed, do I have to go all the way to 1.50 or can I build and run the 3.03 DXAR from 3.10?

Strange because Lumines II runs perfect here, can you try with a different memory stick? The way games are crashing midway in seems to me like it may be a fake one.

but to go back to 3.03 OE, just use 3.03 OE files and 3.03 upgrade eboot to compile the dxar. rest of the instructions are the same.

Nope.. It's legit. Came with a Sony "Entertainment Pack".

I plan on ordering 4GB SanDisk UII this week. Though I doubt this is the problem. It really seems like more of a software glitch than a hardware issue. It's like the firmware is failing to intercept certain forms of media access. I find it odd that Lumines II manages to get the UMD to spin up during its loading... phase (the one after the usual player/game select screens).

try with devhook, if not its definitely a bad ISO dump.

n1k: yeah, thats because the PSP is not region free when it comes to UMD movies. changing region via recovery won't help either, atm the only way around this is to load the disc with UMD Emulator 0.8c which doesn't always work.

impius: you could always try booting the game with devhook and see if it works there.

That's the whole point of OE.. not needing devhook. Judging from my experiences as well as others who had a full set of working backups (working in 3.03 OE) which are now broken in 3.10 OE, I suspect something is wrong with the firmware. I just don't know enough about psp hacking to know how to troubleshoot further.

Just want to make sure, here is my recovery menu config that works with Lumines II:

Plain modules: Disabled

Execute BOOT.BIN in UMD/ISO: Disabled

Use isofs driver: Disabled

do you have the exact same settings as me? I kinda doubt its the boot.bin or isofs option, but DA may have changed the default values for these.

I doubt I'm the only one who considers no-umd a major feature. Besides playing homebrew, no-umd is the second most important feature (to me). If that doesn't work then why even bother with a custom firmware? Just stay on 1.5 for the homebrew.

I think 3.10 is pretty borked based on so many people having problems. I don't remember seeing this many problems on the 3.03 posts. I'll probably roll back to 3.03-b this weekend.

I'm not sure when my problems started, but I think when I it may have to do with something from when I went from 3.10-OE A to 3.10-OE A'.

My PSX game won't run anymore, I get this error: The game could not be started. (CA000005)

It was working fine before, in fact I'm halfway through the game.

Also my GBC emulator now causes the PSP to freeze up, and there's no way to turn off the psp without ripping the battery out when it does freeze.

(I'm using RIN GBC emulator for the PSP btw)

It's not just me my friend is having the same exact problems that I had, and he just upgraded to 3.10-OE A'(from 1.5) when he got back from vacation. I thought it was just me...

Also I have a supported 4GB memory card. (It's a sony one)

the 3.0x series has been mostly about the PS1 games though, you can't play those on 1.5.. but anyway, no-umd is something that will be fixed eventually. I just know it isn't a top priority.

ArmageddonPotato: that does sound odd, nothing has changed in regards to the 1.5 kernel so RIN should run exactly the same.. it happens on all games you play?

for PSX game.. it sounds like you are missing keys.bin in the directory with the eboot

I just got my PSP on monday. but my net was down for a while..

Heere's what i got.... PSP Metallic Blue Japan Version. Firmware 1.5

now i tried to install the 3.03oe-c according to the instructions,

but when i have the oemaker & oemaker% (the first step i think),

one of them refelected as CORRUPTED DATA, i still proceeded with

initializing the update. so the PSP started to create a DRAX file, but to

no avail. it's initiates the file but, comes up short... it states CANNOT OPEN FILE.

then no CHECK values appear. i tried it twice, same thing. so i stop trying bcoz

i'm scared of bricking my PSP. let me know what to do. thanks bro.!

My psp directory is PSP/GAME not GAME 150. Should I change it to GAME150. I currently have the justice.cso in a folder i named ISO. does that matter. the error message is 0x80020148 the game could not be started. But I will try again

Ok, I redid the eboot for it, and regot the keys.bin, and now it is working! :)

I think I needed keys.bin.

But one last problem:

RIN's GBC emu still crashes/freezes the PSP. Why would it be doing this? How can I get it working?

Well it can't be a game in RIN I'm playing because choosing RIN GBC emu from the XMB crashes the PSP right then and there. I'm pretty sure my version of RIN is good... because it used to work anyways. It still plays that little diddy, and shows megaman X and a game of tetris being played in the XMB.

Any ideas why mines not working and yours is?

make sure you have file extensions turned on in windows or else you are really naming it 150.PBP.pbp

when i check the oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker, the files inside is the same. they are both EBOOT.PBP.

well its really simple, do you have a 150.PBP and 303.PBP in oeupdmaker folder?

yeah then just rename the 1.5 update to 150.pbp and 3.03 to 303.pbp and copy to oeupdmaker folder

I solved the laggy memory stick problem by formatting it from FAT32 to FAT with the windows disk management utility (xp).

(start/control panel/administrative tools/computer management/disk management).

nope, TA-079 (launch PSP). but I really don't think the motherboard can be the issue here, have you ruled out the possibility of it being a corrupt iso?

CRC32 of my iso is 04E9427B, does that match with yours?

I just recently upgraded to a 3.03oe-c firmware, all works with no problem..

just a curious question... when i was still at 1.5 firmware, was using a Snes9 from

PSP firmware Guide which also features Dark_Alex.

the only concerm i have is the Snes9 emulator i got here, prompts you with a warning of

"WARNING ! SLEEP MODE IS NOT SUPPORTED, IT WILL CRASH YOUR PSP!!!"

I was afraid to accidentally put the PSP on sleep mode while i was still on 1.5 firmware.

Now that I am in 3.03oe-C, is this firmware able to survive a sleep mode while using

no-umd fixes are in order. C'mon Dark_Alex, this is important to a lot of people. Compatibility is more important then even a new firmware version (at least for me). :p

I have installed both the 3.10 OE - A and the update and when I tried to play a game called justice heros(A game i downloaded some time back - it is an .cso) it give me this game could not be started(80020321). What is not error message and what can I do to fix it.

yes. just put your iso files in the ISO folder on your memory stick then start them from your psp game dir.

so i was trying to install 3.10OE-A' and i put it under PSP/GAME/GAME150 and when i try to install it it boots up in my psp and then it goes back to the XMB saying that "the game won't start"...am i doing something wrong?

nah, thats the wrong folder. GAME150 goes inside of the PSP folder. (e.g. X:/PSP/GAME150)

where do i put the update then?

take a look at the readme. it says the following "Copy the 310_a2update directory to /PSP/GAME150"

I downloaded the bomberman games and it comes in a folder called PSP-Game and a bin file called UMD_DATA. Included in the PSP_GAME are Picture files,.SFO,PMF,EBOOT, files etc.. What tools can I to extract an ISO from these files in order to play this. OR what do I need to do in order to play it on m PSP. I am new to all of this. Thank you

I was wondering how you could upgrade to the official FW 3.11 from Sony after having installed 3.10 OE on the PSP. I have tried downloading the FW directly from the PSP and when it tries to install I get a funny error message saying DADADADA. Does this mean that I am now stuck with this FW and that there are no possibilities to return the official one? :eek:

you can use the recovery option in the recovery menu to return to the official 1.5 then use the 3.11 update from it but honestly i don't see why you'd wanna go back to official firmware which you couldn't run homebrew from.

Ok this is going to be a noob question but here it goes. How can I run Recovery Mode? The reason why is because I might sell my PSP and the person would be interested only if it has the official FW. Yea I don't understand either lol.

I have umdgen. it seems to not locate the files cuz when I click on the directory where the files are located nothing is there. If you can show me when I can get the direction of rebuild them to an ISO.

you hold R while doing a cold boot.in other words you turn off the psp completely,not just put it into sleep mode.then when you turn it on again,you hold R.there'd be an option to run the recovery from ms0:/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP .

the v3.10 OE A2 update is only a small bugfix update to improve compatibilty with certain games like Metal Slug 6

also,im not 100% sure but i think you need all the files in the RECOVERY folder on the memory card.

Some games gave me also the black screen, and didn´t load. When I set the CPU and UMD speed to 333 in the recovery mode they started to work, atleast for me. Try if this helps anyone with the games not loading.

I dunno if anybody gave any attention to this silly post, but i have answered that question on my own experience. I was playing SNES emulator the other day when it prompted me, " battery low!" then it said something about disable ability to save state. then it said, "going to sleep mode!" i was like.. WHAT!!!!! i sorta panicked :o :o :o so i ended up turning the PSP to sleep move myself, not remembering the fear of that WARNING IT DOES NOT SUPPORT SLEEP MODE!!!, after trying several manuever to try and start the PSP, i figured.. heck maybe CRASH means "FREEZE!" then i took off the battery and restarded my PSP. and WHALLLA!!!! :p it works. Either i was lucky, or perhaps 3.03oe-c supports SNES sleep mode, whatever it is, thank God my PSP is alive.:cool: :cool: :cool: :cool: :cool:

I'm currently encountering a similar problem to all the PSX games I've converted, being that they stop up and won't go further, and always on the same spots.

And even more importantly - will this be a problem of 3.10 OE?

Many PSX games freeze at certain spots just because they are not supported by the emulator. Sony added support for more games in 3.10 so upgrading may fix your problem.

i recently updated from 1.5 to 3.10oe-a2...been havin no problems at all...been loadin umd isos ok....but i cant get psx games to work on it....tried tekken 3, ff7, gt2 simulation

i been usisng postation gui v1.0...disable everthing on recover mode....im not sure what forlder you put the psx game folder do i put it in GAME, GAME150 or GAME 310?...i get different error codes after the ps1 emulation waring screen depending on what folder i put it on...either code 80000004, 80010002...also im not sure what kernel to switch on recovery mode 1.5 or 310 i seen diferent answeres that worked for people...any help would be much apreciated

putting it in the GAME folder works fine, your problem is that you don't have the KEYS.BIN file in the folder along with the eboot. If that still doesn't work try converting with PSX2PSP v1.2

i do have the keys.bin there together with the eboot, which kernel should i leave it on 310 or 1.5?.....i will try using psx2psp

I've upgraded my PSP to 3.10 OE-A2 but the games still freeze. However, I read something about a certain "keys.bin" file needed to be alongside the eboot. Could this be the cause? I've obtained a certain eboot conversion of "Hot Shots Golf 2" that includes that specific file. But I'm quite unsure of it's purpose. Could anyone make this easier for me?

Currently I'm using "CloneCD" to create the ISO-backups of my PSX-games and "ICETEA v1.3" to convert them to eboots. I haven't managed to create a working eboot with "PSX2PSP v1.2" yet. Eboots made in PSX2PSP only gives me either an error or BSoD's. What am I doing wrong?

well no because if you need the keys.bin and its not there your game wouldn't start. Maybe that was your problem with PSX2PSP though.

By the serial number it's a psp1006 with that badassboard (that almost unpimpable ta-082, but thx to Dark Alex !!!:o :rolleyes: :cool: :D :) ;) Yeah, right, finally I got it pimped from (bought with) 2.60 to 2.71, experimented something with Hen-D and stuff) and then went to 3.03 OE-A and to OE-C within the next days (once again Alex was extremly quick back in those daze...;) )

The Problem-UMD: A VideoUMD, King of Queens,first season, Episodes 1-5, Region Code2

Sure, the UMD wont run when my PSP was unpimped. It didn't want to run when it was pimped to 2.71HenD. And it still does so, now under 3.03OE-C... I ran through the Recoverymenu and tried to change some entries (e.g. Regioncode free = enabled, Fake Region = Europe and stuff). But (it should say 'butt' here...) still my PSP wont show the UMD, saying 'The disc could not start. The region code is not correct'.

So - to say it not at least with that guy's, Punk Floyd or stuff, words:

IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE who can help me with this issue ?

I'd be very happy for any help - so plz do not hesitate to write it all down.

The region code option is for enabling region-specific features such as PTV or PlayStation Spot. It does not bypass the UMD video region check.

However, a future OE release is planned to resolve this.

I've tried Chrono Cross and Legend of Mana. Both of them freeze, but if you take som different choices/routes in Chrono Cross, you'll be able to "outsmart the freeze", although that makes no fun at all... :(

No, I haven't attempted to "fix" the eboots myself, since I haven't got the faintest idea as how to do so, heheh... :o

What do you mean about it being the problem with PSX2PSP? :confused: sorry for being such a tard-ass, I'm just really noob when it comes to eboot making, but I'm learning... :)

well you said that your games wouldn't start when converting with PSX2PSP, that's probably because you needed the keys.bin in the folder along with the eboot.

Anyways.. I don't think its the converting that is an issue here, its just that the games freeze up due to emulator bugs. When you say choosing different routes etc avoids the freeze thats exactly the same problem I had in RE3.

What I would try doing is test the games out with different popstation versions using Popsloader (link below). Sometimes the older versions work better for certain games (however this wasn't the case with RE3, but I know for others like FF7 the 3.02 pops works better).

UMD games go in "X:/ISO", not GAME150.

about the game folders, GAME150 is used for 1.5 kernel homebrew (which is basically 90% of all homebrew apps), then the GAME303 is used for 3.03 kernel homebrew.

PS1 games go in the regular GAME folder.

When i try to play most of the iso games, they load up fine but then they freeze. Once i clicked enable autosave feature on fightnight 07.. it froze up. should i wait for longer than 5-10 minutes for the game to load? emulators go in the game150 folder right? im usin 303oec firmware.

im thinking my memory card is the problem.. i cant figure out why none of the games i have copied into the iso folder havent worked... all of them have frozen up on me.

Try turning off NO-UMD (after you've done this make sure you have any UMD in the drive), and plain modules.

All those settings can be found in the recovery menu (hold R during boot). If the above settings still don't fix your problems, all signs point to a fake memory stick.

and yes, emulators go in GAME150.

i just updated from 3.03oe to 3.10 OE-A' problem is that a lot of my psx games that ran fine under 3.03oe are now giving me the following error when i try to run them "The Game Cannot Be Started. The data is corrupt."

is it the firmware or is it the compressed rip? i mean the rips worked fine on 3.03oe and i only updated to 3.10 OE-A' because of the added pops features. any help would be much appreciated.

Then all you have to do is download this update, extract the files, place the "310_a2update" folder in GAME150, and then run it.

how about downgrade from 3.10OE-A' to 3.03 OE-C? I'm so frustrated with 3.10OE-A not being able to play games that i previously could. Try every single thing but still fail. Any ideas?

You can actually just downgrade to 3.03 OE-C straight through 3.10 OE-A. All steps are the same.. of course use the 3.03 OE-C files and 3.03 update when creating the DXAR.

i try Jeanne Darc on 3.10oe-a, it is able to load, and play but when i try to cast a spell or use a item in the game, the game would hang and stop there i try lot of time the same thing happen again and again. this game is able to play last time when i use devhook. can devhook work with 3.10oe-a , i really hope the next update would solve this porblem

you can use devhook on 3.10 OE-A, but have you installed the OE-A2 update here? It may fix your problem..

Walker: Have you tried disabling plain modules too? and try a different memory stick.. a user here had a bunch of games not working and turns out that his memory stick was faulty.

Hey I'm kinda new at this, my PSP currently has 3.03OE-C running on it and I'd like to upgrade to 3.10OE-A but I'm not sure how as all the instructions I see are for upgrading from 1.5. (as in they work from the perspective of having 1.5 firmware) and I was just wondering what (if any) changes are to be made if I try upgrading.

no, definitely not. the install process is the same if you are on 3.03 OE-C, so just follow the instructions as normal.

I'm newbie in this scene, and I have a lot of problems with this update, I will give to you a little preface for you can give me a better help.

My PSP was an TA082 with 2.71 with MS 4Gb SONY Pro High Speed, and I downgrade to 1.50 OK, immediately i Update it to 3.03 OE-A, and next to 3.03 OE-C and next to 3.10 OE-A, and 3.10 OE-A', (I have made all this updates without play) and now I'll tell you my problems:

In information System I can see 3.10 OE-A', I put in the recovery all the options to default.

1. I put 6 games (iso, cso) in the folder ISO, but when I go to games\MS I only see 2 games.

2. When I try to run a game I get a black screen (PES6, NBA Live 07, others but with 3 little games runs OK (Mind Quiz, Footbal manager and Miami Viace))

3. I try so, PSX games, I put it in the 3 differents folders GAME.... and always get 'Wrong data'

Can you help me??? please I'm lost.

i'd also suggest you make sure to have a UMD in the psp when no-UMD is turned off.

Okay, now that that's out of the way, I know you've all probably heard this too many times to count, but I'm a noob, and it's time for another installment of "N00bie Questions!" *ahem*

1. I have ordered and am getting my psp in a few days, and I see alot of people having problems with 3.10a' and I have decided just to go with 3.03c for now. Is/are there a way/ways to accidentally upgrade to an official firmware? And if so, will I have the option to not do it? Any game to stay away from due to auto-updating? I intend to use the browser with my Wi-Fi, will that update me? Because I ordered a 1.5 and I don't want to put that extra money to waste by accidentally upgrading. And if my firmware upgrades I will cry, ALOT. I ain't above cryin, and noone wants to see a grown man cry. (Well, 18, whatever, lol)

2. How does Popstation do the L2/R2 buttons? I know that sounds like a stupid question, but it's one that's somewhat obscure, I'm more or less just wondering.

3. So, for things like emus and stuff I put into the GAME150, and PSX I put in GAME?

1. i don't think there is a way to accidently update to an official firmware as i think that dark_alex put in code to stop that happening but just incase,heres a thread about a plugin that hides the update icons from UMD games.

also,theres no games as of yet that require any firmware above 3.00 as far as i know so you can play any game that you want :)

the internet browser doesn't require any updates and doesn't download or install them automatically either so don't be worrying about that.

2. popstation by default,uses the left and right directions on the analog nub for L2 and R2 respectively.there is an option to uses a different setup in the game if needed.

3.all homebrew goes into ms0:/PSP/GAME150,all playstation games go into ms0:/PSP/GAME and all ISO's go into ms0:/ISO folders

Is there any way to switch discs? I'm playing FFVIII right now and I just got to the end of disc one, but when i boot up disc two, my save file doesn't show up.

yes, the second disc GameID has to match that of your original SaveID from disc one.

If you don't know what it is look in your savedata folder on the memory stick and find the FF8 save, that number is what the second disc GameID should be changed to.

My first disc is named "SLUS00892_CD1" the save folder was named SLUS00892

Now my 2nd disc is named "SLUS00928_CD2" I have tried renaming this to "SLUS00892_CD2" as well as just "SLUS00892" and neither have worked...am I missing something?

yeah, what I meant is that you have to actually edit the GameID of the disc 2 eboot, it doesn't matter what the folder is named.

Use a program like PSX2PSP (http://www.exophase.com/files/download.php?id=91) which lets you edit it.. and change the disc 2 eboot GameID to "SLUS00892".

im running 3.11 is there a way to get a downgrader 4 it cuz i want to get it down but i havent found one from anyone that works I let my brother borrow it and when i got it back it was v 3.11 i was waiting for it so i could get a new downgrader but i dont think it will work anymore

3.11 cannot run homebrew. You will need to wait for a downgrader.

You Have two options

1.custom firmware the only way i know of doing this is downgrading* to 1.50 then updating to a custom firmware (i suggest 3.03oe c from the dark-alex.net website)

2.*Downgrade to 1.50 and run it from there

*BUT there is no downgrader for 3.10 YET so sit back and wait

You can install 3.03 OE-C as normal, just grab the 3.03 OE-C files, get the 1.5 and 3.03 updates to make the DXAR, and you're good to go.

recoverd to 1.5, then tried again with 3.03C and 3.10 and got the same problem again, it starts with sound and all that, loads for 3-4 sec gives me the "PSP tm" loggo animation and goes to a black screen.

Sounds like these files are a set of compressed files. Try use a program called WinRAR to extract them into their actual files.

it wasnt working on 3.03 oe-c either, so i upgraded to the newest dark alex firmware and the game is still freezing up at a certain spot. . . . it loads the game up until the window with all the legalities.. then it freezes my psp right there.. I got a UMD in the drive, XMb and UmD speeds are 333mhz. . . . . . anyone got this problem?????

are you sure your sticking it in the folder ms0 as being drive ms0/psp/game/(game title)/eboot and rest if you are maybe its a bad copy or loads of people have problems with the firmware go to dcemu.co.uk press on psp aplications and find 3.10 oe-a revision 2 update or whatver thats the thing that might fix the problem.

At this time there is no way to downgrade 3.10+. Just relax and wait for a downgrader.

I don't recommend updating though, the wait for a downgrader will probably be very long. Its not that hard to track down a copy of GTA..
