by Mike Bendel on January 6, 2008 @ 9:50 pm

We brought word that Sony was planning to bring the PSP GPS peripheral stateside way back in March of last year. Now, Sony has officially confirmed that the device is indeed coming.

A listing on Sony’s official CES 2008 page denotes the following:

Explore the world with GPS on your PSP. Utilizing the GPS peripheral and the latest mapping software on UMD, your PSP will provide 2D/3D locations, driving directions, POI’s, and even downloadable city guides. With an easy search feature and customizable settings, GPS on PSP is the easiest way to navigate new areas and cities. Your world has now become portable.

While an official release date and pricing details have yet to be announced, expect to hear more during CES this week.

Sweet, but if the price costs more than buying on ebay+shipping fees then it's stupid.
