According to research data from from the Nielsen Group, most PlayStation 3 owners are connected to HDTVs, with Xbox 360 and Wii owners trailing closely behind. The results indicate that 71 percent of all PS3 owners are connected to an HD display (LCD, plasma, front/rear projector), while 66 percent of Xbox 360 and 65 percent of Wii owners are hooked up to a high-def set.

Component cables still remain the most widely used for connecting consoles to displays, however, it is expected that the availability of HDMI inputs on the PS3 and new-model Xbox 360s will drive up adoption of the HDMI interface.
