BBFC Reconsiders UK Manhunt 2 Ban

by Mike Bendel on December 10, 2007 @ 3:58 pm

Rockstar’s appeal against the British Board of Film Classification’s decision to ban controversial video game title Manhunt 2 has passed, by a margin of four votes to three. This however does not mark the end for Rockstar’s long drawn-out battle to get the game released in the UK.

The BBFC said it will consider the Video Appeals Committee’s judgement and how it plans to react, once the relevant documents supporting the appeal are in hand.

Consider it a small victory for Take-Two and its publishing label Rockstar Games. Ultimately, though, the final decision is in the BBFC’s hands.

About time too, thing is I personally found the uncensored game lame if we can ban a lame game like this the future of British gaming looks bleak.
