Square Enix not happy with Wii’s Friend Code System

We all know Nintendo created the friend codes system mainly to protect younger gamers against child predators, but to most gamers and developers its become more of a nuisance than anything.
From a recent interview on Cubed, Square Enix says the whole friend codes deal is the main reason why FFXI is not heading to the Wii.
What do you think, should Nintendo ditch the friend codes system?
