Phantasy Star Universe Portable Unveiled

by Mike Bendel on December 5, 2007 @ 1:19 pm

The latest issue of Famitsu has revealed that Sega is bringing Phantasy Star Universe Portable to the PSP. Unlike its console counterparts, the PSP version of PSU will lack an online mode, which is a shame considering the PSP’s extensive wireless capabilities.

The port, which is being handled by Japanese developer Alfa System, will be based on Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus, with the addition of new characters and gameplay elements.

Despite the exclusion of an online multiplayer mode, PSUP will feature a 4-player ad-hoc mode in hope to (somewhat) satisfy longtime fans of the series.
