Nintendomination: DS Tops Weekly UK Hardware Sales Charts

According to ChartTrack sales data for the week beginning November 18, the Nintendo DS sold through an impressive 191,000 units, overtaking the PSP’s previous one-week record of 185,000 units during its launch period.

We’re obviously delighted to be able to announce this. Momentum has been increasing on DS sales and to achieve the highest weekly sales figure ever in the history of the games market is fantastic.

Impressive indeed. And it’s not like Nintendo released a new color for the DS last week – by the standards last week was just another ordinary week for the DS in Europe – yet it shifted 191,000 units. Just wow.
