Brawl: Spectator Mode Revealed
by Mike Bendel on November 16, 2007 @ 9:15 am

Nintendo designer Masahiro Sakurai has revealed that Brawl will introduce a Spectator mode to the series. How it works is simple. Simply choose Spectator from the With Anyone menu and you can watch a live action game of Brawl over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Match selection is handled at random, and nicknames of the players will remain hidden from view.
At the beginning of each match, players can bet coins on who they think will be the winning character. Winning will net you extra coins, and even extra prizes.
In case you don’t want people peeking in on your match, Nintendo has added a menu in Wi-Fi options in which you can turn Spectator mode on or off.
