The quirky delights of Catherine have won over a sizable audience, with publisher Atlus announcing today that it has become the company’s biggest launch ever in 20 years of operation.

“Catherine has exceeded our highest expectations,” VP of Sales and Marketing at Atlus told IGN.

The Xbox 360 and PS3 title hit shelves last week. While Atlus has not provided exact figures, it’s impressive that sales are on track to surpass its last breakout success, Demon’s Souls. This certainly bodes well for the budget on the inevitable Persona 5.
