Iwata: We Want A Wii In Every Household

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced at a briefing today in Tokyo that Wii hardware production has increased from 1.0 million units to 1.8 million over the three months ended June 30.
Even at 1.8 million units each month, Nintendo believes supply will be tight, as the company’s long time goal is getting a Wii in each and every household. According to Iwata:
We are trying to create an environment that every household has a Wii. We are not done yet.
An ambitious goal indeed, but not so unrealistic if the Wii continues to sell as well as it is now.
