Team Fortress 2 Goes Free To Play Forever
by Mike Bendel on June 23, 2011 @ 6:58 pm

Valve’s popular class-based shooter Team Fortress 2 is now completely free to play. Forever. The bold move marks Valve’s first foray into the F2P market, which recently was given its own subsection on Steam.
To top it off, this also coincides with the release of the Über Update, the largest content pack to grace TF2 yet.
Existing owners of TF2 have been given a premium account, which includes access to hats and other items through random in-game drops. By purchasing any item on the Mann Co. store, F2P users can upgrade to premium.
