Valve To Enter Free-To-Play Space With DOTA 2?

With Valve now fully embracing free-to-play titles for digital delivery through Steam, the company has plans to move into that space with a title of its own.

Speaking to French site Barre De Vie, Valve’s PR man Doug Lombardi was asked whether we’ll see a Valve F2P title, to which he responded with a simple “Yes.”

While no further details were spared, speculation is rife that DOTA 2 may be the company’s first F2P effort, given that its community-developed predecessor was also free. There’s also the fact that Valve has been testing the waters with microtransctions as of late, an avenue often used to profit off F2P experiences.

The only thing preventing me from liking DotA is the control scheme.

I either wish it played like Diablo where the camera is locked to your character, or was like a first or third person action/shooter.
