Ending their press conference today, Microsoft revealed that Halo 4 was in development and will be a part of a new trilogy. The title seems to take off where Halo 3 left the story and you can expect to continue the fight in “Holiday 2012″.

Ehhhh, not sure how I feel about this. Not the same without Bungie :( I'm more excited about the Halo CE remake.

Abe Froeman says:

I'm not too interested either. I've never been a big fan of Master Chief as a character or the Halo universe for that matter. I'm sure I'll get it and plow through the campaign and then get bored of the MP in a week like I normally do with all things Halo though.

Robby says:

Darn, I thought I finished the fight already.

MenaceInc says:

NEW trilogy? I'm getting Episode 1 vibes here...

TeamOverload says:

Okay, the trailer made my inner fanboy come out and made me a bit more excited than initially. Still going to have to wait and see about it :)

FrozenIpaq says:

Halo Reach was equivalent to Episode 1 (although it was a good game). Not sure how they can call it a new trilogy if it is taking place after Halo 3 (from the looks of it)

MenaceInc says:

Revisiting a storyline initially thought completed. Agreed on Reach being good but I don't know what a new trilogy could focus on. The Flood were eradicated and a truce was brought with the Covenant if I remember.

PR0fessor Burnt says:

Maybe some sort of civil war?.

MenaceInc says:

That giant ship thing at the end of the trailer is way too big for a human craft.

PR0fessor Burnt says:

ya I guess. Some how I forgot about the giant ship lol. My guess Is that it heavily involves the Forerunners

Andy says:

I hope the Forerunner play a part in it.

MenaceInc says:

Forerunners were wiped out though when they tried to contain the Flood previously though 3 billion years previously. Possibly could be the Precursors though as there's been nothing related to them in the games so far.

PR0fessor Burnt says:

Funny I could swear that Guilty Spark and the Halos where made by them. XD

I wonder if maybe that spaceship at the end was actually a robot like Guilty Spark?

MenaceInc says:

Forerunners did make the Halos and the AI constructs. I didn't consider that the ship was a robot made by the Forerunners. However, the issue with that theory is that the Forerunners apparently considered humanity as their successors. Building something to destroy your legacy doesn't quite make sense. As this point really though, all we can do is speculate. If I had to place a bet on who was behind the giant ship, I'd say the Precursors.
