Ninja Gaiden III 30 Percent Complete, First Screens Surface

Progress is steady on Ninja Gaiden III. Developer Team Ninja has revealed to Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu that the title is 30 percent complete. In addition, the first wave of screenshots have surfaced, and as we’ve come to expect from the franchise there’s no shortage of blood. Heed warning, squeamish types.

Interestingly, according to a translated account of the Famitsu report over at Andriasang, the right arm of series protagonist Ryu Hayabusa will play a “central role” in the title. New gameplay mechanics include a wall climb and sliding move, as depicted in the screens below.

Unfortunately, the shots are somewhat small as is usual from Famitsu. We’ll update when higher-res images are available. Expect more information on NGIII next week as it will be playable on the E3 show floor.
