Yamaoka: No Silent Hill Wii, Users Aren’t Hardcore Enough

One would think Silent Hill would be a perfect fit for the Wii, using the Wii Remote as a knife or flashlight. Konami sees that, there’s potential… but it’s not going to happen. Why? According to Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, it won’t happen because majority of Wii owners aren’t hardcore enough.

AY: Ah, the Wii. Wiiiiiiiiii… Silent Hill Wii. Can we do it? Will players like it?

WN: Yeah! There’s a lot of potential there, using the remote as a flashlight, or a knife…

AY: Yeah, there’s potential.

WN: But no plans.

AY: No plans. The Wii user isn’t a hardcore user.

But is being a hardcore gamer really a necessity for enjoying a game such as Silent Hill? Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition sold well on Wii, in fact it exceeded expectations.

hmmmz sounds like another knock off trying to make fun of a system. Probably just like that other site, i remember that made fun of the playstation with a fake "PS3 official website" now that was funny. But if this is real, it would've been cool to see silent hill on the Wii, if Rockstar can put in Manhunt2 on the Wii. I think Konami needs to Reconcider, seeing the amount of people now owning the Wii is far more then people using the 360 and PS3 at the moment.
