Update #3: Reports are coming in that PSN service has resumed in the U.S. Northeast. It’s finally back, folks.
Update #2: PSN will return very soon, according to an update posted over at SCEE’s official website. Today Sony launched a “phased restoration” of services by region, with North America and Europe first in line. We’ll update when it starts showing signs of life.
Update: Sony’s announced that the update is merely a prep for when PSN returns. The network still remains offline, unfortunately.
We’ve just been informed that PS3 firmware 3.61 has gone live. According to Sony, this firmware re-enables PSN access and should prompt a password change on connect. We’re installing the update now to see if the network is live.
