Nintendo 3DS eShop Firmware Delayed Into Early June

Originally scheduled for May, Nintendo’s pushed back the release of its eShop firmware update for the 3DS, announcing today that it’ll now arrive on June 6 in North America. The region-specific update will hit Japan a day later on June 7.

As you may well be aware, the eShop is Nintendo’s digital storefront for the 3DS. While the company remains coy on what will be available day one, Capcom recently revealed that Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version will be among the initial offerings.

The decision to launch the storefront on June 6 is an odd one, considering all eyes will be on Microsoft and Sony that day, for their yearly E3 press conferences.
