Metro: Last Light Is Metro 2033 Sequel

by Mike Bendel on May 3, 2011 @ 5:47 pm

In an investor conference call for THQ’s year-end fiscal 2011 results, company CEO Brian Farrell name-dropped the sequel to last year’s post-apocalyptic FPS, calling it ‘Metro: Last Light.’ Previously, it was referred to as Metro 2034.

THQ is backing the sequel with ample marketing grunt, prepping an E3 unveil that will ‘blow minds’ according to THQ Core Games head Danny Bilson. Beyond that, THQ is promising more polish for the second descent into Metro’s gritty world.

While sales fell short of expectations, the first outing was extremely well-received. Now with THQ pumping more money into the project this time around, they could have a  huge hit on their hands here.

Perhaps if they're looking for more sales they could port to the PS3 ;) *Last game was ported to the 360 and it didnt seem to matter.
