Yesterday there were some reports concerning a TA-082 downgrader, and we had some suspicions about it so did not post the news. Turns out after confirming with a few PSP developers the downgrader is indeed fake – do NOT run or download it.

Dark_AleX made some points as to why it is fake:

- eLoader cannot run PRX files
- The file 271SE.thug is just a 2.71 Sony updater
- The text file that it generates with supposed keys, doesn’t seem to be used at all by anything
- When choosing to downgrade to 2.71 SEC… it just writes that file to the output directory

Take our advice and do not bother running this.. it will not work period.
