by Mike Bendel on April 14, 2011 @ 3:58 pm

Microsoft has retained the top spot in terms of console hardware sales for another consecutive month, selling 433,000 units, according to NPD data published today. That figures represents an increase of 28 percent year over year.
On the portable side of the spectrum, Nintendo’s newly-launched 3DS sold approximately 100,000 units less than its predecessor. While Nintendo has yet to divulge exact figures, the 3DS did outclass the DS in terms of software sales, with NPD pointing to Capcom’s Super Street Fighter IV as the top selling title for the platform.
