Final Fantasy V Inbound for PSN

by Mike Bendel on April 4, 2011 @ 11:16 am

Square Enix’s announced that Final Fantasy V will receive the PSOne Classics treatment “soon.” Originally released in 1992 on the Super Famicom, FFV was a latecomer in the West, making its way over nearly seven years later with the release of Final Fantasy Anthology, a compilation disc set containing both FFV and FFVI.

Not surprisingly, Square Enix is using the PSOne version as a source for the digital conversion, which comes complete with FMV cutscenes. The title is revered for its expansion on Final Fantasy III’s job system, allowing customization of characters through specialized classes and abilities.

Trigun says:

Likely they will release V and VI seperately as that's how they were released in Japan.

Bran says:

Amazing, I will finally play this game. I've always been interested in it's job system but never got into it.

I hope this is like the Final Fantasy I & II Anniversary editions for PSP, those were great.
