Valve On More Half-Life: “Hang In There”

by Mike Bendel on March 29, 2011 @ 1:20 pm

Even with all eyes on Portal 2, that hasn’t stopped fans from constantly barraging Valve for information on its plans for the next Half-Life.

Although Valve initially committed to an episodic release schedule, it’s been 4 years since the release of Episode 2 in 2007. With such a gap, many feel Valve has ditched the short and sweet approach for something more substantial, like a Half-Life 3.

While Valve isn’t discussing any particulars on that, PR head Doug Lombardi reassured fans in a recent interview with AusGamers that the company is not yet finished with Gordan Freeman’s adventures.

You will ever see it, yes. We are not done with Gordon Freeman’s adventures. I have nothing other than that to tell you today, but hang in there with us.

Even if it’s nothing substantial, always nice to hear an update on the Half-Life franchise. Now, back to waiting!

Bran says:

I didn't play Episode 2 until last year, so it's not been so long of a wait for me.

I have probably played HL2 like 20 times at least. At least a few times with the portal gun modded in.

Ojin says:

I don't personally mind the wait on Half-Life 3. Plenty of other games to help fill in the void during the time. Besides, it ain't like there going to pull a Duke on us.

Kwipper says:

April Fools. Half Life 3 is going to be delayed several more years.

April Fools jokes are getting old there Gabe. :/

Spiros says:

Dude, it's barely March 31st.
