Publisher THQ is feeling encouraged over sales of its war shooter Homefront, lauding that the title has sold through “over 1 million” copies to date worldwide. The company says it is satisfying demand with 2.4 million units in total shipped to retailers.
“We are very pleased with strong worldwide shipments and sell-through for Homefront, and we continue to fulfill new retail orders for the game across the globe,” said THQ CEO Brian Farrell in a statement. “Homefront is clearly resonating with gamers and we are certainly pleased with our initial sales results.”
Goes to show that an ample marketing budget can combat mixed reviews from critics. The average Metacritic rating across all three platforms — Xbox 360, PS3, PC — currently hovers around 69-71.
